Military Schools Entrance - Syllabus
The military schools have 300 boarders each plus 30 day scholars spread over from class VI to XII. 67% of the boarder vacancies are reserved for the sons of serving and retired Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Officers of the Army and their equivalent ranks in the Navy and Air Force. 10 % seats go to service Officers and the remaining 13% go to civilians. From all categories of seats, 15% are reserved for Scheduled castes and 7.5 % are for the Scheduled Tribes.
The vacancies reserved for the sons of service personnel (JCO and ORs) are allotted by the Army Headquarters (GS Branch, MT 15) based on an entrance tests conducted by MT 15. GS Branch, Army Headquarters in the month of December every year. Application forms and other details regarding eligibility etc can be obtained by serving and retired Army Personnel from their respective Record Offices and from naval Headquarters (Education Branch) and Airforce Headquarters (Education Branch).
Admission for wards of Service Officers and Civilians: Applications of sons of service officers and civilians are to be submitted to the Principal in the application form. Boys are normally admitted to class VI only. Last date for application for admission to class VI is invariably 20th September of every year.
Age: As on 01 July of the year of admission the age of the boy must be in-between 10 to 12 year for class VI.
Admission process has four papers
English test is qualifying test. Its marks are not counted towrds merit. The standard will be that of class V of any Central School.
