Rashtriya Indian Military College - General Information

    The Rashtriya Indian Military College(RIMC), Dehradun (Capital city of Uttaranchal) traces its origins to the Prince of wales. The RIMC has a sprawling campus of 138 acres. Royal Indian Military College, inaugurated on 13th March, 1922. The RIMC is an institution of National importance that provides, quality all round education to young boys to develop a sound mind, a robust physique and strong moral values which enables them to become leaders of men, serving the nation's Armed Forces.

    The college has a fully residential programme for a period of five years from classes VIII to XII following the syllabus of studies of the Central Board of Secondary Education, with science stream offered at the plus 2 level.

    The RIMC admits only boys from the age of 11 ½ to 13 years. It is the only school in India, which is called a college. It admits children twice a year for January and the July terms. It houses a Mini India with 250 boys selected from every state strictly on merit by a written examination and an interview. Depending upon the population of the state the vacancy for admission is allotted to the state.
