P	Principal
R	Rate of interest
N Or T	No of years (Time)
SI =	(P * N * R) Divided by 100
A	Amount = (SI + P)

Concept Based Questions:

Find the simple interest on an investment ( Principal) of Rs. 4,000 invested at the rate fo 12% for 6 years (Time)

Step 1:-What are the data given?

1. Principal = Rs. 4,000
2. Rate = 12 %
3. Time = 6 years

Step 2 :- To find what ? Simple Interest earned
Step 3:- Formule to be used to find the SI = (P * R * T / 100)
Step 4:-Working:- Substitute the values in the formulae:- then we get
SI = P x R x T / 100 = (4000 x 12 x 6)/ 100 = 40 x 72 = Rs. 2880

Therefore the answer is Simple Interest is Rs. 2,880/-

In any competitive examination the partern would be

50 % Easy
30 % Medium
20 % Skill based or Hard
The reason for the same is to find out the Brighter students from the not so bright (as per as academics is concerned )
